...a little background   During the 1920’s, the United States Government, through the national census, realized that people in some small, specific geographic areas of our country, had life spans consistently around the century mark -which was very unusual when the average life span at that time was perhaps slightly more than half that. Investigation determined that the level of Chromium naturally occurring in the soil of these areas was considerably higher than in other areas of the country. So, all other factors being essentially normal, the government attributed the increased longevity to the presence of this mineral.. Subsequently, this information was buried or lost, through the manner of bureaucracies, until sometime in the late 1950’s, when a French national uncovered the study, which led him to seek other peoples of the world with records of equal longevity.
