"We sure
showed those
Border
Collies!" —
That was the
comment
Handler,
Susan
Rhoades,
made when
accepting
B.B.'s High
In Trial
rosette at
the American
Herd Breeds
Association
Sheep Trial
at Keepstone
Farm,
Berryville,
VA on July
2nd -- high
praise from
a handler
who breeds,
raises and
trials only
Border
Collies--until
B.B. (aka
Springshire's
Bouncing
Blue) came
along. His
score of 98
was just shy
of perfect.
B.B. (an
8-year old
Cardigan
Welsh Corgi,
whose
arthritic
back had
been a
serious
impairment
to his
performance
in
competition
until he
became a
Canine Excel
Dog), dominated
the three-day
trial, earning
three titles:
HRD II
(Intermediate
Ranch Course),
HRD III
(Advanced Ranch
Course) and HTAD
I (Started Arena
Course). He also
earned his first
leg in HRD III
(Advanced Trial
Course). This
brings his total
number of titles
to 22.
"The Advanced
title allows him
to start earning
points toward
the HT Ch (AHBA
Herding
Champion) title.
The third day of
the trial was
devoted to a
special Large
Flock Ranch
Course limited
to 12 dogs: 7
Border Collies,
2 Tervurens, 1
Sheltie, 1
Bernese and B.B.
B.B. moved 25
sheep among
three fields and
through various
obstacles,
earning 82
points and
Reserve High in
Trial." |

Springshire's
Bouncing Blue,
now featured on
our label, came
to
Canine Excel
as an 8-year old
Performance
Corgi with
problems
associated with
arthritis in his
back and
right-front
knee, and
attention
deficit. Every
veterinary and
Eastern Medicine
solution was
being applied
without full
success.
Canine Excel
resolved every
problem and
allowed BB to
become the first
dog, ever, to
win both the
American Herding
Breeds
Association
Championship and
the American
Kennel Club
Herding
Championship in
one year. When
his owner
accidently ran
out of
Canine Excel
for 21 days, his
arthritis came
back. Three days
of Canine Excel
had him racing
around the yard
with the puppy
again. |
